Three Peaks Three Days

3P3D is a campaign initiative to replace the alleged "national challenge" of climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales (Ben Nevis, Sca Fell Pike, and Snowdon, usually in that order) in 24 hours with a full day excursion on and around each summit, thereby taking in some of the finest rock architecture in the British mainland and providing more of a challenge to walkers (and much less to the poor bastard who has to drive everybody from one peak to the next, an arguably illegal undertaking even if speed limits are observed, which North Wales Police contend is dangerously unusual).

The basic idea is to stress the advantages (interest, challenge, scenery) of the longer undertaking rather than concentrating on the many, very legitimate, criticisms of the 24-hour route-march and road-race (see <https://www.theBMC.co.uk/three-peaks-challenge>).
